Kosher Senior Café - Model Passover Seder The Senior Café invites you to the Model Community Passover Seder on April 19 led by Rabbi Goldwasser. The Seder starts at 11:00. Stay for lunch from noon to 1PM. Temple Sinai is the host site for the Kosher Senior Café run by Jewish Collaborative Services of Rhode Island on Fridays at 11AM. The program offers kosher meals and socializing for older adults and those with physical disabilities. Reservations are required two days in advance for meals, and there is a suggested donation of $3 per meal. There is no charge for scheduled social activities. Shabbat in the Sanctuary At our service on Friday, April 19, in the Sanctuary, Rabbi Jeff Goldwasser will talk about making the Passover Seder meaningful for young and old. Also, Rabbi Goldwasser and Cantor Deborah Johnson will welcome their colleague and friend Cantor Denise Heitmann to the bimah for a richly musical service. Shabbat Breakfast and Torah Study Every Saturday morning, we enjoy breakfast and Torah study in the Chapel. At 9:30 AM, a crew of volunteers prepare and serve the scrambled eggs, french toast, pancakes, and creamy oatmeal for all comers. Then, we'll really get cooking with study of the weekly Torah portion at 10:00 AM. When there is no bar or bat mitzvah, we have an hour-long service, including Torah reading, in the Chapel. Second Night Passover Seder Our annual Second Night Seder is back! We will gather in the Social Hall for a seder led by Rabbi Goldwasser on the evening of Tuesday, April 23, at 5:30 PM. The seder will include a complete Passover dinner from soup to dessert. The cost is $36 for adults, $15 for children 6 to 12, and $5 for children 5 and under. Plaque Dedication Service At our service for the last night of Passover on Sunday, April 28, at 7:00 PM, we will dedicate the memorial plaques installed in our Sanctuary since last Passover, remember the members of Temple Sinai who have died in the last year, and say the Yizkor prayers of remembrance.
